Wedding Leis for the Bride, Groom and Guests

Every guest can receive our standard orchid lei or our premium multi-flower lei, and the couple can have a lei made just for the day. Lei traditions for men are a little different: local men often wear kukui nut and maile leaf lei, which makes them a natural choice for the groom and groomsmen. How it works

How a Group Lei Greeting Works

Planning for a group takes a little more care than a single arrival. We’re glad to take that on with you.

  1. Contact us

Call (808) 264-9500 or send a quote request with roughly how many guests, the arrival dates and the occasion. We reply within 24 hours.

  2. We plan it with you

We go over flight details, how many of each lei you’d like and the name for the welcome sign. Reggie looks after the planning personally.

  3. We confirm the details

You receive a confirmation of your booking, and we keep in touch as the date approaches so any changes are taken care of.

  4. We welcome your group

We track arriving flights on FlightAware and meet your guests at the foot of the escalators beside Baggage Claim, holding your group’s sign.

Guests arriving on different flights? Wedding guests and reunion families rarely arrive together. We can greet guests on separate flights, on the same day or across several days. Share each guest’s flight when you plan the greeting, and we’ll schedule a welcome for every arrival.

Wedding & Group Lei Questions

How many people counts as a group?

Our group rate begins at six guests: $37 per standard lei and $47 per premium lei. For groups of eight or more, we arrange the greeting personally so we can coordinate your arrival properly.

Can the bride and groom have a different lei from the guests?

Yes. We offer an executive-class lei for weddings, made to suit the occasion, and kukui nut and maile leaf lei are available on request. Guests can receive our standard or premium lei in the same booking.

What lei do men wear at a Hawaiian wedding?

Local men often wear kukui nut lei or maile leaf lei rather than a flower lei, which makes either a natural choice for the groom and groomsmen. Both are available on request when you plan your group’s greeting.

How far ahead should we book a group greeting?

As early as you can. A larger group needs more fresh flowers, and early notice gives us time to plan the arrival with you. Please call (808) 264-9500 or send a quote request to begin.

Can I arrange a group greeting if I won’t be at the airport?

Yes. Many planners and family members arrange greetings for guests they aren’t traveling with. Give us the flight details and the name for the welcome sign, and we’ll look after your guests.

Can you greet guests arriving on different flights or days?

Yes. We can greet guests on separate flights, on the same day or across several days. Share each guest’s flight when you plan the greeting, and we’ll schedule a welcome for every arrival with your group’s name on the sign.

Are you an authorized lei greeter at Kahului Airport?

Yes. Lei Maui is an authorized lei greeting provider at Kahului Airport (OGG). We meet your guests at the foot of the escalators beside Baggage Claim.

Can you invoice our company or provide a W-9?

Yes. Invoicing and a W-9 are available on request for planners, companies and event coordinators. Mention it in your quote request or call (808) 264-9500.

What if some guests have flower allergies?

Please let us know in advance. We offer kukui nut lei and shell lei on request, and maile leaf lei as well.

Where will our group meet the greeter at Kahului Airport?

At the foot of the escalators beside Baggage Claim at Kahului Airport (OGG). We’ll be holding a sign with your group’s name on it. See the terminal map.

How does payment work for a group?

Nothing is charged when you book. Hawaiʻi General Excise Tax is added to the prices shown, and the balance is settled in person when we meet your group.
