About the greeting

What Is a Maui Airport Lei Greeting?

A Maui airport lei greeting is a personal welcome when you land at Kahului Airport (OGG), the main airport on Maui. One of us meets you at baggage claim, greets you by name, and places a fresh, handmade lei on each guest before you collect your bags.

Giving a lei is how Hawaiʻi has welcomed people for generations. It is a gesture of aloha — love, honor and welcome — and a small gesture that sets the tone for the whole trip.

Meeting point

Where We Meet You at Kahului Airport (OGG)

Greetings take place just outside the secure area, on your way to collect your bags. Look for us at the foot of the escalators beside Baggage Claim, between Ticketing and the baggage carousels, holding a sign with your family or group’s name.

You don’t need an airport pass or any special arrangement. If you’re comfortable sending us a photo of yourselves ahead of time, it helps a great deal, though it’s certainly not necessary.
