Kahului Airport (OGG) is Maui’s main airport, in the town of Kahului on the island’s central isthmus. It’s compact and easy to navigate, and a few tips will make your arrival even smoother.

From your gate to baggage claim

After you leave the aircraft, follow the signs for Baggage Claim along the main terminal. You’ll leave the secure area and take the escalators down toward Baggage Claim. If you’ve booked a lei greeting with us, we’re waiting right at the foot of those escalators, holding a sign with your name.

Meeting your lei greeter

Look for your name on our welcome sign as you step off the escalators. We track your flight on FlightAware, so there’s nothing to do if you land early or late. The greeting takes just a few minutes, then you’re on your way to collect your bags. More about our Maui airport lei greeting.

Getting to your rental car

Kahului Airport’s consolidated rental car facility opened in 2019 and houses the airport’s rental car companies under one roof. It’s a short tram ride away, with a tram station across from baggage claim.

Taxis, rideshare and shuttles

Taxis, rideshare and shuttle services are available at the airport. Follow the ground transportation signs from baggage claim to find each pickup area.

Arrival tips

  • Hawaiʻi time: Hawaiʻi stays on Hawaiʻi Standard Time all year, with no daylight saving time.
  • Book reservations early: Haleakalā at sunrise, Waiʻānapanapa and ʻĪao Valley need advance reservations. See our guide to the best things to do in Maui.
  • When you fly home: bags on flights from Hawaiʻi to the U.S. mainland go through an agricultural inspection before you check in, so allow a little extra time.
